POSITION AVAILABLE:
BICYCLE MECHANIC

We're excited to bring on another member of our small, but rapidly growing local bike shop team!  As a bike shop that warmly welcomes everyone and has a special focus on serving families, women, trans and gender non-conforming riders, we encourage folks of all gender expressions to apply.  Folks with bicycle mechanic certification and previous bike shop experience are strongly encouraged to apply as well.

Position Details:

This position will be responsible for working directly with customers in regards to floor sales & bicycle repair. We're in search of a great person who has technical proficiency in bicycle assessment and repair procedures, attention to detail, and most importantly the ability to act welcoming, friendly, and be an approachable ambassador of Dashing Bicycles. 

Key Duties:
*Engage costumers in a retail setting
*Assess and repair a wide range of bicycles
*Assemble stock bicycles from the box
*Keep up to date with current stock in store of both components and accessories
*Stay up to date with emerging trends and new products in the industry

Qualifications:
*2 years experience as a mechanic in a professional bike shop
*Knowledge of and willingness to learn more about both emerging and older bicycle technologies
*Experience in bike fitting
*Consistent attention to detail and methodical approach to service
*Willingness to accept guidance and feedback related to job duties
*Effective and open communication skills
*Commitment to creating a welcoming and engaginc space for people of all gender identities, races, shapes, sizes, ages and riding styles

Initial Employment Term:  May - September, 2017, with option for year round employment
Hours per week - 27 (with option for more)
